Chordophone Records announces the release of MR. LUCKY, a new studio album by SPEEDO AND THE CADILLACS. This record is comprised of 11 news songs all written in classic rock & roll and rhythm & blues styles. Most of the tunes, including the up-tempo jump-blues "Mr. Lucky" and the ballad "Only A Dream," feature the soulful, distinctive lead tenor of Earl "Speedo" Carroll who formed the Cadillacs in 1954. He's that unforgettable voice on the original version of the rock and roll standard "Speedo." This album showcases the other members of the Cadillacs ensemble as well. "Everybody Else" is sung in comic, swingin' rhythm and blues style by original Cadillacs bass vocalist Bobby Phillips. "Why?" is a Latin-flavored torch song smoothly delivered by veteran baritone Gary Lewis. Second Tenor John Michael Hersey takes a turn on lead with the rockabilly dance number "Paper Anniversary." And the last cut is a hip-shaking surf-style instrumental performed by the Cadillac band.

All the songs were written by musical director/guitarist John Michael Hersey (see www.johnmichaelhersey.com for more info). One of the songs, "Every Once In A While", was co-written with vocal group legend, Eddie Jones, of Demens and Emersons fame.

This Album's premier coincides with the 50th anniversary of the release of the group's legendary ballad "Gloria." But, as the first song on the new record proclaims, Speedo and the Cadillacs are not only still rockin' - they're "Better Than Ever!"
